This Ethernet media converter from StarTech.com converts optical data signals to electrical signals. Any standard SFP (small form-factor pluggable) connection can be used for the inbound fibre connection, making it compatible with a range of devices. The unit needs a power supply of 12 to 56V DC, which can be connected via terminal block or coaxial power connectors. This means you can either hardwire the device or power it using an external power supply for flexibility in your setup.
